After many years working in Interior Design ‘The Design Destination’ is a new hybrid creative studio in tropical North Australia providing a curated collection of ever changing trade secret artful things to use in your interiors or everyday lives. From art to homewares and lifestyle items all selected for their quality and uniqueness , Made by Australians and others we may meet along the way we also offer a personal trade product sourcing service for interiors, venues, styling, architectural and the building industry that we have for so long operated within.
We believe our surroundings have the capacity to significantly influence our mood and overall wellbeing so good design therefore enhances the quality of our lives.
These are the sort of things you cant find everyday, They are by artists and makers we have spent decades discovering, Some made in far flung places of the earth, Some right here in Darwin, They are the things you find that are worth treasuring.

I think of our lives as art. Everything in it from your imagination, your friends, your home, the things you make or put in it, the smile or scowl you offer the world each day, the way you write and talk, what you wear, right down to the food you eat. All of it forms your life’s art so to me learning about peoples individual art and being a part of that is magic.
You may not know this yet but I am happily immersed in design every single day, I am particularly passionate about antiques, art or anything slightly offbeat and pride myself on obsessive attention to the artistic detail. With broad trade contacts after many years working in the design industry I identified a need for unique homewares and furniture, People were always asking me where to buy things from, How to collect art or just for ideas on what to put in their spaces so this new venture takes me further into the art world that I have skirted for so long and I look forward to discovering where it leads . After starting a family and travelling Australia for a year in 2018 I rediscovered slow living and after meeting more incredible makers and inspirational artists of all kinds I decided to start a store to help bring these pieces to a wider audience.
Questioning what we want versus what we need - Sustainability in not just my own life but in yours too and getting better at this together whilst surrounding ourselves with beauty is what propels me into action each day and what I wish to share with you.
Maybe I will make money doing it or maybe I will just learn some lessons and meet cool people along the way… I am happy with either scenario.
